10 Things I didn't know about Microsoft.

The folowing are 10 things that I didn't know about Microsoft Word, I didn't have much time to explore Microsoft word in the past so I think this is a good chance for me to get to know this stuff and also I am using Microsoft Office 2007 so it is different for Microsoft 2003 :

1. Insert Citations: References, Citations and Bibliography, Insert Citation, Choose the type of citation (Book, Website, etc.,)

I learned of the Insert Citations modual. This Modual allows you to cite things without using Citation Maching which is pretty cool, know this measn I can be a little bit lazyer and just make the Cite in Microsoft word for almost anything without going to Citation machine. In the past I never look at references so I didn't know of this useful feature of Microsoft Word

2. The Quick Access Tool Bar: It is beside the file button, to add to it either go right click onto on of the moduals and click customize quick access tool bar or just right click the moduals you want on the and click add to tool bar and all the tools that you will need will be there.

I find this modual pretty helpful to me that is because I dont have to skip throught so many moduals to find the ones I actually need, and it can help me do my work faste.r

3. Header and Footer: Go to Insert, Header and Footers, choose header or footer, and choose out of already made ones.

I found this modual pretty cool becuase it could spice up your work and make it seem a little neater and it will look better all around so it seems more professional.

4. Table to Text: Click on Table, Go to Layout, Data and Table's data into text. You can choose the type of text you want your text to be.

I dealt with times where you have a data in a table but since it is too long to put in a table you want it to be in text so you would either retype it or copy, delete table, and paste it back, this consumes alot of time while this just turns it back to good old normal writing, which is more efficient.

5. Envolopes: Mailing, Envoles, type in adress and size, Print.

This is also a very cool modual that i was only able to find on Microsoft Office 2007 for some reason, I was able to create an envolope to mail letters to, with this my envolope will look more professional with the type adress and all without the pen marks and if I don't have an envolope i could just print one out. This is a quite cool modual.

6. Edit Data: Create Chart, Select chart, Design, Data, Edit data, Change what is needed.

This was something that suprised me. When I made a chart, I noticed that there was no data screen and then excel popls up with a data table telling me what i need to put for where. This is very helpful and makes it easier to rearange data. This is one of my favourite applications becuase I get to use 2 programs to make my life easier.

7. Automatic Table of Contents: References, Table of contents, choose the the type of table of contents, that was already created.

Did you ever had a time where you made a project but forgot to make a table of contents and when making it you have to make the dots one by one which makes you regret having to have to make one. With this modual you can make the table of contents last, you dont have to make dots you just have to put in page number and Name of page and that it.

8. Signature line: Insert, Text, Signature line

I always wondererd where they got the signature lines for some of the business documents for the Boss or business men to sight, with this I can actually make a document that sort of looks professional without hav e to use paint and going through the trouble.

9. Table Maker: Insert, Tables, Tables, Quick tables, choose one of them

You can make many things that you cannot create before like callenders and other tables with specail desight and it looks better than it does before.

10. Compare and Contrast: Review, Compare, Compare, Choose 2 Documents

This allows you to choose 2 documents to compare and you can compare them side by side to see how much better is on over another, this helps when you are trying to make something look creative.
